Role Summary

The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for providing leadership and management of the Company’s Quality Management System (QMS), including:

  • Ensuring that processes needed for the Quality Management System (QMS) are established, implemented and maintained
  • Report to top management on the performance of the QMS and any need for improvement
  • Ensure the promotion of awareness of customer requirements throughout the organisation
  • Liaise with the external assessment body on all matters related to the external accreditation process


The core responsibilities include:

  • Implement pureLiFi’s Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Ensure that a document control procedure is adopted to approve, review and update all changes to critical documents within the scope of the QMS
  • Ensure that records are established and maintained to provide evidence that the QMS is being followed and that there is a system in place for the identification, storage, protection, retrieval, retention time and disposal of such records
  • Review the performance of the QMS at planned intervals to ensure its continuing suitability, adequacy and effectiveness. This review means assessing opportunities for improvement and the need for changes to the QMS
  • Ensure that an internal audit programme is adopted to verify that the QMS conforms to planned arrangements, QMS arrangements and is effectively implemented and maintained
  • Analyse data on the effectiveness of the QMS and evaluate where continual improvements of the QMS can be made. This shall include data generated as a result of monitoring and measurement and from other relevant sources
  • Communicate with stakeholders the impact of market change and potential effects on engineering design and development of pureLiFi products. Recommend solutions without compromising quality or service
  • Co-ordinate continual improvements of the QMS, ensuring that evidence of corrective and preventive actions taken are recorded and reviewed
  • Act as point of contact for warranty issues and respond to customer complaints putting in containment actions, full analysis, poka-yokes (error proofing), and implementing short-term and long-term countermeasures

Person Specification


  • Has designed, developed and implemented all relevant procedures described in Quality Management Systems ensuring compliance with relevant standards and certification bodies
  • Knowledge of quality system standards such as ISO9001, ISO14000, ISO50001, ISO27001, ISO13485
  • Solid understanding of various quality standards for telecommunications products, including electrical, mechanical as well as software quality
  • Proficient in the use quality tools such as SPC, 8D Problem solving, DFMEA, PFMEA, APQP, PPAP, MSA etc.
  • Application of Six Sigma methodology and lean principles
  • Excellence in documentation and maintenance of such
  • Experience in a high volume manufacturing environment
  • Experience in managing and liaising with suppliers to resolve quality issues
  • Minimum of 5-7 years in similar role
  • Has worked as part of a Management team to share ideas and improve operation, recommending, supporting and implementing continuous improvement activities and process and procedure improvements to optimise results and improve quality of delivery, in line with quality while optimising cost
  • Ability to work collaboratively, negotiate and engage with key stakeholders to facilitate delivery and compliance with the Quality Management System
  • Competent in problem solving, team building, planning and decision making
  • Sc, HND or equivalent


  • Membership of an industry related professional body
  • Experience of working with data communications / telecommunications products
