Research Project Manager Permanent Edinburgh Posted

We are looking for a skilled Project Manager to assist the Company with the delivery of its various grant funded research projects (H2020, Innovate UK, etc.). You will take on the management responsibility of key research projects, with the goal of delivering them on time and to budget. You will be reporting into the CSO of the Company and work closely with the R&D Engineers and the wider Engineering team.

The core responsibilities include:

• Represent pureLiFi at project consortium meetings and promote pureLiFi’s interests in the execution of the projects
• Monitor resource expenditure and prepare interim reports for submission as periodically required by each grant awarding body
• Prepare and submit project deliverables with input from appropriate members of the team
• Ensure compliance with the terms of the grant and protection of pureLiFi IP contributed to projects on a need basis
• Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of grant funded research projects
• Ensure that all projects and key milestones are delivered on-time and within budget
• Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives for new funding bids, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
• Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques
• Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques
• Successfully manage the relationship with the project consortium and grant awarding body
• Perform risk management to minimize project risks
• Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors
• Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation


• Previous experience in technical/research project management within the technology industry
• Solid documentation/writing skills
• Solid organizational skills including previous experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
• Good educational background, preferably in a field of engineering
• Solid technical background and knowledge
• Excellent attention to detail
• Excellent customer-facing and internal communication skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills


• Previous experience of handling EU research projects
• PMP / PRINCE II certification
• Hardware design and test experience
